Wedding Birdseed Filled Organza Bag Throws

It's been a tradition to throw rice or birdseed at the newlywed couple as they leave the church and make their way to their limousine. Why is birdseed thrown? It is believed to bring good luck to the newlywed couple and the seeds symbolize fertility and prosperity for the years to come.

These birdseed throws are made using 3x4" white organza bags that have a white drawstring ribbon for closure. There is enough birdseed in each bag for approximately two handfuls or one generous handful. Birdseed is preferred over rice because it's more eco-friendly. Birds will eat the tossed seed which provides them with food and the wedding party or church staff with no mess to clean up!

Of course, if you do not want to toss birdseed, these can also be given to wedding reception guests as favors. In this case, you may want to purchase hang tags.
